a:SIMBAD lists as variable or suspected variable, but Hipparcos
a finds scatter in Hp<=0.015mag. The typical scatter for the other
a standard stars was 0.005 mag in Hp (Hipparcos magnitude), with
a none greater than 0.01mag.
b:Spectroscopic binary.
c:From standard list of Garcia (1989, Cat. <III/149>) and originally
c in Johnson & Morgan (1953ApJ...117..313J), but not listed in
c either Keenan & Yorka (1988BICDS..35...37K) or
c Keenan & McNeil (1989, Cat. <III/150>).
d:HR 5409 is a resolved binary (separation of 5") listed by SIMBAD
d as a variable star, but Hipparcos found the scatter in the Hp
d band to be only 0.015mag.
e:HR 5072 is the planet host 70 Vir. Keenan & McNeil (1989,
e Cat. <III/150>) call it G4 V, however it is G5 V in virtually
e every other reference (e.g., Gray, Graham & Hoyt,
e 2001AJ....121.2159G). We retain Keenan's classification
f:Hipparcos "G" binary.
g:CCDM J12165-5009AB. Unresolved binary ({rho}=0.2")
h:The Michigan Spectral Survey (Houk, 1978, <III/51>) classifies
h this star as K0/2(V)+(G) (quality = 3). We found it to be much
h earlier (G1.5) and note that the published b-y and B-V colors
h support an early G classification.
i:Star "E" of Soderblom, King, & Henry (1998AJ....116..396S)
i high-resolution survey of active southern stars. It is the most
i Li-rich of the very active stars in the Soderblom sample. We did
i not resolve this tight, equal-brightness binary
i ({rho}=0.2"; CCDM J13431-6908AB).
j:CCDM J15304-3218AB. Both stars were on the slit ({rho}=1.5")
k:[KWS97] Lupus 1 26 = CCDM J15450-3412AB. Binary is resolved
k ({rho}=3.4") but both were on-slit.
l:[KWS97] TTS 79 = CCDM J15450-3412AB. Unresolved binary ({rho}=0.2")
m:Star #10 = HIP 59721 is a common proper motion pair ({rho}=24")
m with HD 106444 = HIP 59716 (F5V, {pi}=9.92+/-2.53)
n:Star #19 = Einstein Slew Survey source 1ES 1233-63.4
o:Star #23 = HD 311894 = 2E 1241.6-6315 = Eclipsing binary
o discovered in The All Sky Automated Survey Pojmanski (1998,
o Cat. <J/other/AcA/48.35>): ASAS J124435-6331.8 (Per = 2.6 days)
p:Star #27 = 2E 1255.1-7012 = EUVE J1258-70.4
q:Star #34 = PDS 66 = Hen 3-892 = IRAS 13185-6922. This is the
q lone classical T Tauri star identified in this survey.
q [O I] {lambda}6300 is seen in emission (EW = 0.2{AA}).
r:Star #46 = CCDM J1437-4145AB. Unresolved binary ({rho} =0.4")
s:Young ROSAT star identified by Wichmann et al.
s (1997A&A...326..211W)
t:Young ROSAT star identified by Krautter et al.
t (1997, Cat. <J/A+AS/123/329>)
v:Star #69 = CCDM J15394-2710AB. Unresolved binary ({rho}=0.4").
w:Star #76 = CCDM J16038-4356AB. Unresolved binary ({rho}=0.3").
x:Star #79. Faint companion off-slit ({rho}~=4").
u:Star #66 = CCDM J15370-3127A = RX J1537.0-3136 = 2E 1533.9-3126?
u Our spectrum is of the bright (V=10) primary; the BC components
u (both V=13) are 4" away, and off-slit.
v:Star #69 = CCDM J15394-2710AB. Unresolved binary ({rho}=0.4").
w:Star #76 = CCDM J16038-4356AB. Unresolved binary ({rho}=0.3").
x:Star #79. Faint companion off-slit ({rho}~=4").
