Note

FN140This is the mixed spiral [SAB(r)bc] LINER NGC 6744 with a heliocentric
FN140radial velocity of 841±5km/s. The region dominated by the bar is very
FN140extended and quite clean of gas. Many knots are evident. Two arms in
FN140particular contain a bunch of adjoining giant HII regions where most of
FN140the massive star formation must currently be taking place. NGC 6744,
FN140with F1660=8.95, is the brightest of the FAUST galaxies observed in the
FN140NGC 6752 and the Antennae fields.
