Our KAO observations of the Galactic center arched filaments show that
the FIR excitation is consistent with ionization by stars, as opposed
to more exotic phenomena such as magnetohydrodynamic induced
ionizations. Our subsequent ground-based observations have revealed
a tight cluster of probable WN8-9 stars located near the E1 Filament.
Based on our HII region models, an excitation gradient in the FIR
lines will be evident if the cluster is responsible for the ionization
of the E1 Filament. We propose observations of [SIII] (33 microns),
[SiII] (35 microns), [OIII] (52 and 88 microns), [NIII] (57 microns),
[OI] (63 microns), [NII] (122 microns), [CII] (158 microns) and
the 40-196 micron continuum at 3 positions at varying distances from
the G0.12+0.02 cluster to test whether this cluster photoionizes the
arched filaments and the relationship between the cluster and an
 adjacent molecular cloud.
