We are proposing to observe a small sample of low-mass X-ray
binaries at 10 and 90 microns. This will extend the wavelength
at which the accretion discs and secondary stars have been
detected by a factor 4 to 40. This will allow us to test the
mechanisms by which the accretion discs produce light. More
importantly, the longest wavelengths that these systems have
been observed at to date suggest there is another, as yet
unidentified source of IR light. The long wavelength
coverage of ISO is the only way of showing if this really exists.

One target of the five in this proposal is a ToO.
